Terror Victim’s Family Attacked by Terrorists on the Way to his Grave

The expression “only in Israel” usually relates to the country's positive uniqueness. Not this time.

Rabbi Yitzchak Cohen, father of Nerya Cohen ZL, went to visit his son’s grave yesterday, Jan. 14, the child’s birthday.

Nerya and seven other students at the Mercaz HaRav yeshiva in Jerusalem were murdered on March 6, 2008 in a massacre by a Palestinian from Jerusalem who made his way into the yeshiva by hiding his rifle in musical instrument case.

On his way to visit the grave on Mount Olives (Har Zeitim) in Jerusalem, Rabbi Cohen, his wife and their two young children were attacked by rock-throwing Arab terrorists. They struck at three different points on the road, causing heavy damage to the car but no injuries to him, his wife and their two young children.

“I began weaving my way through, while they continued to pursue us. At some point I got out of the car and drew my gun; only then did they flee,” he said.

Rabbi Cohen called the police, who took 45 minutes to arrive and explained they were busy with other events. In the meantime, other cars also were hit by rocks.

“There is no question that that the police are guilty of negligence in ensuring the safety of the citizens of Jerusalem and the State of Isla,” said Rabbi Cohen. “These were not children who were attacking; they were much older. You must understand that a stone can kill or cause life-long injury. Why do the police and state not take this seriously? My daughter wanted to visit the grave today but refrained from doing so because of this attack.

“This is not a normal situation that a bereaved father cannot visit the grave of his son who was murdered by a terrorist. This is a terrible situation, and it causes me a terrible feeling.”

Nerya was one of eight yeshiva students who were murdered by Alaa Abu Dhein from the eastern Jerusalem neighborhood of Jabel Mukaber. The terrorist was killed by Mercaz HaRav student Yitzchak Dadon and off-duty IDF Captain David Shapira, who both fought back using their personal firearms. Eleven other students were wounded, five of them in serious to critical condition. Nerya was 15 when he died.

According to a subsequent opinion poll, the massacre was supported by 84 percent of the Palestinian population.

Only in Israel.

  1. The Arabs who attack Jews are making war against Israel, because they are trying to kill the Jews. It is written in the Torah, in Devarim (Deuteronomy) 20:10-18, that God commanded that, in the war, Israel kill all the enemies. Therefore, the State of Israel must kill all the Arabs who attack Jews.
The State of Israel must expel the Arabs from its territory, because it is written in the Torah, in Bamidbar (Numbers) 33:52, that God commanded Israel to expel the other inhabitants of the Land of Canaan, which is the Land of Israel, which includes all the Palestine. The Arabs invaded the Land of Israel in the year 635 CE, so that they are invaders, and must leave Israel, and return to their own land, which is Arabia. This is not racism, because any person, of any race or ethnicity, can convert to Judaism.

  3. What can we expect other than savage behaviour , who are supported by Obama and Kerry.
I hope that the government introduces a law which makes stone throwoing a criminal offence with a jail term of no less that 15 year hard labour., wihout any chance of parole.. or release in exchange for whatever.
If anyone injured by those svages should be sentenced to 20 yars.
Stop those savages from their terrorism.
I hope the PM will tell Kerry to stay at home. Israel does not need Kerry's advice on how to commit national suicide

Kick out every Arab, it was never their land and will never be their land and if not shoot everyone of them in the West Bank and Gaza.

  6. Alex Shapiro says:

And if the bereaved father shot to death one of these bastards, many newspapers in the world, notably the New York Times, would run in big letters, on their front pages, "A Palestinian Killed by a Jew." A crazy world we're living in now…

  7. The only solution: work those people. Have them work on orchards in the desert under strict supervision. If they have time on their hands because of unemployment they try to amuse themselves by causing harm to their enemy who is readily available, as are stones. It's a matter of civic control. More police or volunteers are needed to make a citizen's arrest. Of course, the government should have a state farm.

  8. Israel is on the wrong Pass, The Road to Peace is to send the Palestinians to Jordan the land given by the British to the Palestinians.

  9. We want have that kind of chutspah till we continue being nice to our enemies. The Arab World judge our niciies as weakness and that 's why continue attacking. Sad story.
