Suspected terrorist arrested near Talmon

What could have ended up as a tragedy in a small community in the hills of Binyamin instead was another foiled terror attack at the start of this week.

A suspected Arab terrorist was arrested Sunday afternoon at the entrance to the Jewish community of Talmon, in the Binyamin region, about 18 kilometers east of Modi’in.

The suspect was identified by local sources as 22-year-old Muhammad Abed a-Rahman Mathloum, according to the Palestinian Authority-based Ma’an news agency. He was blocked from carrying out an attempted stabbing attack, and instead was overpowered and arrested.

The security personnel seized the knife he was carrying, and transferred him to Israeli security personnel for questioning.
