The Palestinian Holy Trinity: Jesus, Arafat and Abbas

PA leader Rajoub: "The greatest Palestinian in history since Jesus is Yasser Arafat."

Palestinian Media Watch (PMW) reports that The Palestinian leadership’s falsification of history by presenting Jesus as an ancient Palestinian has increased in regularity as Christmas was approaching this year. In the last month alone, the PA media has transmitted six additional PA misrepresentations of Jesus as a Palestinian, including a statement by the Governor of the Ramallah district Leila Ghannam: “The Palestinian pain is one and the joy is one. We all have the right to be proud that Jesus is a Palestinian and that Palestine is the birthplace of the religions…”

A Palestinian historian, Khalil Shoka, further added on Dec. 16: “The Christian religion started here [Bethlehem]… The entire world is focused on this city because of its important historical and traditional role… because, in the final analysis, Jesus is a Palestinian.” Sheikh Muhammad Hussein, Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian Territories, said on PA TV on Nov. 30: “The Palestinian nation is rooted in this land since the Canaanites and the Jebusites. The Arab presence – Christian and Islamic – on this land is uninterrupted. Jesus is a Palestinian par excellence.”

In addition, there is an attempt to connect Jesus to the Palestinian leaders themselves. Senior PA leader Jibril Rajoub, a Fatah Central Committee member, said on PA TV on Nov. 29: “The greatest Palestinian in history since Jesus is Yasser Arafat,” and an editorial in the PA official daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida referred to Arafat, Jesus and Abbas as the Palestinian “holy Trinity”: “Jesus is a Palestinian; the self-sacrificing Yasser Arafat is a Palestinian; Mahmoud Abbas, the messenger of peace on earth, is a Palestinian. How great is this nation of the holy Trinity!”

PMW has documented the ongoing PA historical revision, which falsely connects the current Palestinian-Arab population to a fabricated ancient Palestinian-Arab nation. Although there is no record of any Palestinian-Arab history and no people ever identified as being part of a Palestinian-Arab nation until very recently, the PA claims they are an ancient Palestinian people in an attempt to compete with Israel’s well-documented Jewish history in the land.

While Christian tradition and the historical writings of the period portray Jesus as a Jew living in the land of Judea in Israel, the PA consistently tells its people that they are the ones connected to Jesus. This is not only a distortion of Jesus’ personal history as reported in Christian writings, it is also an anachronism. The Romans changed the name of Judea to “Palestine” in order to punish the Jewish nation after its unsuccessful rebellion, a 136 years after the alleged birth of Jesus.

And Arafat was gay and I don't mean happy; so, this figures since the whole issue of Palestinianism is nothing but a lie.

  2. Well, shet ma mouth! Yori, graet pecture. Jezeus an Arafat wanded th' same against us Jews.

  3. Yehuda Cohen says:

Wow, what a picture! Would it be too much, Yori, to show him shouldering an AK-47?

  4. Palestinians as always lie. Now they try to write new Bible. Look, may be Christians will believe.

  5. It is natural for them to lie this way, thay had good teachers, the christian church. Anyone who red their writings will come to the same conclusion. It is not hate speech its true.

Now I have officially heard every BS arguement known to mankind.

Jesus has nothing to do with Arafat and Abbas!

It is the Fakestinians who try to invent a fake linkage between the Jew Yoshua alias Jesus and the nowedays so-called Palestinians..we know Jesus has nothing in common with those terrorists…it is ut to you, Christian and western world to oppose and condemn their weird propaganda before it becomes, like every much repeated lies..reality!

Do you say the alleged birth of Mummahad? Intellectually dishonest Jews at J.P. cannot even approach the subject honesty–typical whores!

  9. Esther Fleisher says:

The author must be a coward since they would not put their name on such trash.

  10. Rob Braun says:

So if the Palestinian Arabs aren't Palestinian Arabs, who and what are they? After all, theses mysterious people have been here for over a thousand years. What do we call them? Or do we just pretend they don't exist?

    • Yori Yanover says:

When Mark Twain visited the land in the late 19th century, there were about 6,000 Jews and 10,000 Arabs, give or take. In 1948 there were 600,000 Jews and 1 million Arabs. Neither group grew naturally. Jewish arrivals created industry and agriculture that attracted mingrant workers from Syria and Egypt — much like the illegal east Africans who are flocking to Israel today. Those are the Palestinians.

    • Michael Dar says:

Brown, there was never a sovereign state or country called Palestine nor was there ever a nation, specific ethnic group of people called Palestinians ..name me one of the many invaders and occupiers of the land who ever mentioned Palestinians…they on the other hand abundantly refered to their battles agains the Jews. Even Arabs acknowledged that there is no such thing as a Palestinian people…and that it was invented, quite recently to try to create a history and a legitimacy for themselves denying Jewish rights on the land… the nowedays so-called Palestinians were imports from the 4 courners of the Ottoman empire an later mostly illegal immigrants during the British mandate..

  11. Cho Ransome says:

Then why are these still pursuing acts of violence towards their neighbours?

  12. Cho Ransome says:

Since Rome created its own 'Yeshua', now Palestinians see no reason not to create theirs!

  13. Rob Braun says:

Wow, so these people have no legitimacy to live in Judah & Samaria? They basically don't belong anywhere? It sounds a lot like the kind of thinking that went on in Europe towards the Jews for over a thousand years. It didn't matter how long they lived in a place, they were still illegitimate and homeless. Is this how Israel should treat its neighbors?

    • Yori Yanover says:

Saying they are not the indigenous people is a far cry from suggesting they don't deserve to live there. Maybe you're projecting on Israel your own American guilt about what you've done to the Indians. Israel is not interested in expelling the Arabs. But Israel is the lawful sovereign in the area between the Jordan River and the Sea.

    • Rob Braun says:

My only point is what the article was saying, not a projection of anything else. The writer makes the native Arab population of the West Bank, Gaza & Israel sound like they don't have any rights or legal claims to their own homeland. They are non-entities, in other words, irrelevant to the greater needs of the Israeli state. I only point out, as Jews, this is something we can all identify with, being considered irrelevant, illegitimate and in the way.

  14. Lola Piasecka says:

    Don’t be serious!

  15. So the Palestinians claim Jesus as their own. I wrote a university thesis on the intention during the first century CE amongst some Christian leaders to wipe out the barriers between "Jews" and "Christians" — seems the intention to eliminate barriers persists and is current. That's a good thing, don't ya think?

    • Yori Yanover says:

All First Century Christians were Jews. The land was lousy with different cults expecting the final days to be upon them. Watch Life of Brian…

    • Yehuda Cohen says:

The Rambam, Rabbi Mosheh Ben Maimon (Maimonides), wrote a formal didactic (teaching) letter to the Yemenite Jews in 1172 informing them that Muhammad and his predecessor, Jezeus, are (were) false prophets and insane. To go further into this subject is truly a waste of brain cells.

    • In the first century, all Christians were Jews. After that, there was a successful effort on the part of the Church to CREATE a barrier between Christians and Jews, which lasted for well over fifteen hundred years. Or don't you know your history, Felecia?

  16. René De Vere Peratoner says:

Jesus, whose real name is YahShua was never a Palestinian but a Jew. He said (written in the Christian New Testament) that not one Jota of the Torah shall be removed. He celebrated all the Jewish festivals and the Sabbath. The so-called Christian festivals of "Christmas" and "Easter" and also the "Sun"day are not biblical at all but are original from sun-god worship and of babylonian origin. The Jesus of the Roman church has not much in common with the YahShua of the Bible.

  18. Rubin Katz says:

Now we've heard it all, the latest Palestinian shtick; the Holy Trinity made up of Arafat, Jesus and Abbas. Anything is possible in the fertile Arab mind! What about the Holy Ghost?

  19. There never was a "palestinian people" in all history. The Romans called the country Judea, all of it, Judea, subsuming Samaria, Galilee and the Golan in Judea. However the New Testament uses the name Judea both in the broad Roman sense of the whole country and the narrow Jewish sense of Judea as Judah, the former kingodm of Judah, the south.

  20. But Jesus or Yeshua was born in Bethlehem, the city of David, nothing about palistinians owning Bethlehem. also He chose the lowly womb to make His entry into the world, as the prophesy had to be fullfilled that a young woman would give birth to a child and the government would be on His shoulders. as Mary was chosen as she was of the royal line of David, as young shepherd, and Christ our Lord often referred to Himself as the "Good shepherd who would give His life for the sheep." Since He is our Lord and saviour He also puts a love for Israel into our hearts, as without some of Israel rejecting Him, Salvation would not have come to us. So G-d bless Israel and its people.
