Police in Munich, Germany are asking people to avoid crowds and are preventing people from using several train stations because of a “serious, imminent threat” of a terrorist attack.

Authorities in Munich revealed that they are aware of indications of a planned terrorist attack in Munich for New Year’s Eve. At this time the Munich and the main Pasinger station are closed, cleared and trains are no longer running.

The warning was issued at 10:45 p.m. local time.

Munich police posted on Facebook that according to “serious information, there will be an attack tonight.”

CNN reported that Police received “concrete information that strongly indicates that there are possible plans for terror attacks in Munich, specifically against the main train station and the railway station in (the western district of) Pasing.”
