Two rockets slammed into Eilat at 9:00 AM Wednesday morning. One rocket hit the yard of a house, the second hit in an open area. One person was treated for shock. It’s not yet know where the rocket was launched from. Two more rockets hit Aqaba, Jordan (next to Eilat).

Israel is talking with the Jordanians, to try to identify the landing sites, to help determine the launch site. It is suspected that the launch came from the Sinai.

It is also suspected that Global Jihad, and not Hamas is behind this attack.

Israel has temporarily closed the Eilat airport to incoming and departing flights. Eilat’s civilian airspace is closed until further notice.

The Mayor of Eilat announced that all school children are currently in bomb shelters. The Eilat municipality is debating whether to send the children home, or keep them in the school’s bomb shelters.

The air-raid siren went off in Eilat, in time for the attack.

There is also an Iron Dome stationed near Eilat. The Iron Dome anti-rocket system has been there for approximately a month, but it did not shoot down these rockets. Israel is trying to determine why the system didn’t activate.
