Overnight clashes in Jenin. The trend recently has been of clashing Arabs being killed by the IDF, which seems better prepared.

An IDF unit operating in the Jenin refugee camp overnight captured a wanted Arab terrorist, who then managed to escape and was shot. The force captured the man a second time and removed him to a hospital, where he died. No soldier was harmed during the operation.

Islam al-Tubasi, 19, seen with his dirt bike, was killed this morning.

As has been the case frequently in recent weeks, the IDF unit met with violent resistance upon entering the refugee camp, including gun shots and improvised grenades.

Palestinian sources told Israel Radio the killed man was Islam al-Tubasi, 19. Ma’an reported that Tubasi was shot in the leg, before eventually dying in the hospital.

Tubasi’s family members told Ma’an that “special units stormed the house after Israeli forces bombed the door and immediately went to the roof of the home where Islam sleeps. He tried to escape and they shot him and then dragged him out of the house and took him to an unknown destination.”

According to Ma’an, the IDF patrol included around 20 Israeli military vehicles. The soldiers entered the camp at dawn and raided several homes.

Wafa reported that the clashes with local residents broke out only following the shooting of al-Tubasi, and that dozens of camp residents injured by stun grenades, tear gas and live fire. Several young Arabs were shot in the lower body with live fire, witnesses told Wafa.

According to Ma’an, Salah Nael Ghazzawi, 13, was shot in the leg and taken to hospital for treatment.

He’s still alive.

IDF forces appear these days to be entering Arab areas prepared for violent confrontations, which is why they manage to complete their missions and to do so without being harmed themselves. Last week, at the Tomb of Yosef in Sh’chem, two Arabs were shot by an IDF unit after they fired on the soldiers – and no soldier was harmed. Some 1400 Jews were praying inside the tomb site at the time and the Arabs had begun the event by throwing stones at them.
