We apologize to everyone who had problems accessing JewishPress.com yesterday.

One of our articles was picked up by the Drudge Report, and at the peak, our servers were were trying to deliver an estimated 60,000+ pageviews an hour as people repeatedly tried to access the article, which is definitely more than our current capacity to deliver – so as you can imagine, the site slowed down, a bit.

In fact, this was far more traffic than the Denial of Service attack JewishPress.com successfully overcame before Pesach.

It was pretty cool to watch from the back-end of the system.

We certainly hope this happens again soon (and we thank Drudge for the link), and are quickly working on a solution to handle traffic peaks like that, so site access won’t be limited in the future.
