Israeli protester hold up banners as they protest against US Secretary of State John Kerry, in Jerusalem, March 31, 2014.

I do not envy Mr. Kerry. I cannot imagine why on earth he would want the job that he has. But since he does have it, I can only wish him luck when he sits down with Mr. Obama today.

I suspect he is going to need it, and I hope the discussion keeps both men busy enough for long enough that America will now leave well enough alone here in the Middle East — and especially here in Israel.

  1. Sad that America’s best ally in the middle east has been so put upon and without real cause. Israel wants to live in peace and the arabs want nothing less then to destroy her. It’s just that simple but POTUS & Kerry don’t get it – I guess arab money can even buy a POTUS….

  2. you are much too kind and generous concerning John Kerry, He chose to take on this job of being a peacemaker, but unfortunately he couldnt see past abbas craftiness

  3. Hana, your whistling Dixie, as they say south of the Mason/Dixon line! Obama will NOT leave Israel alone. He is received in no other country as courteously as he is in Israel. His Presidency is in the Tank. The upcoming 2014 mid-term election will see his Administration sink further under water. He needs a victory. He will press Israel to it's destruction – for HIS – benefit if he can. He has 3 years to push for Sol Lewinsky's America.
