Next Sunday, October 20, at 9:45 AM, the Young Israel of Fort Lee will dedicate its new building at 1610 Parker Avenue, Fort Lee.

The new “Ulo and Ethel Barad Building” is named after its donors. The Barads’ son, Gerald, will be speaking at the event in memory of his parents, who were long time members and contributors to the synagogue.

Mayor Mark Sokolich, RCA President Rabbi Shmuel Goldin, OU senior official Paul Glasser, and Rabbi Neil Winkler of the Young Israel of Fort Lee will attend the ceremony, along with members of the synagogue.

An open house will be held following the dedication, to give the greater community a chance to see the new building and meet some members.

The original building, erected in 1980, was demolished nearly three years ago to make way for this much larger, 2-story facility that will better serve its 120 families with an elevator that runs automatically on Shabbat, full kitchen, reception hall, main sanctuary and smaller beit midrash for weekly services, and handicap accessibility.
