Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman ordered the re-opening of the Kerem Shalom and Erez border crossings with Gaza on Sunday morning, citing the reduction in violence along the security fence this weekend, Liberman’s office announced.

However, no decision has yet been made on whether to reinstate delivery of the fuel purchased by Qatar for Gaza. That issue will be reviewed in the coming days, Liberman’s office said.

At least 10,000 Gazans arrived at the border with Israel on Friday, with some of them still hurling burning tires, live grenades, Molotov cocktails and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) at Israeli troops across the security fence.

Nevertheless, most of the rioters maintained some distance from the fence. They also disbanded earlier than in past weeks, the IDF reported.
