Caught outside during a real-time rocket attack in southern Israel, 2014.

On the seventh straight day of Red Alert sirens triggering in southern Israeli communities, Jews once again went racing for their shelters across the Gaza Belt region.

At least five Red Alert incoming air raid sirens wailed through Gaza Belt communities along the border, sending families and other residents scrambling for cover.

Long minutes later, the IDF announced the sirens — all five of them — were the result of a “false alarm.”

“The Eshkol Regional Council suspects that internal fighting in the nearby Sinai set off the alarms,” officials said.

No rocket landing sites had been identified by security personnel, and no explosions heard.

For those whose hearts were set racing and whose adrenalin and cortisol levels were sent sky-high, however, it made no difference whatsoever.
