Deputy Defense Minister Eli Ben Dahan (Habayit Hayehudi) on Friday said there was no truth in Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar’s Thursday interview with Yedioth Aharonoth, in which Sinwar said he was not interested in another war with Israel.

“If Yahya Sinwar does not want war, as he puts it, he would immediately and unconditionally return all the citizens of Israel who are in the Gaza Strip, throw away all the means of terror in his possession, including rockets and lighter weapons, close down the military wing of Hamas, stop the riots and attempts to penetrate the border fence, and most importantly – erases the call to destroy Israel from the Hamas charter,” Ben Dahan said.

Ben Dahan added that “because we all know there is no chance that any of the above will happen – Yahya Sinwar remains a lowly terrorist whose only goal is to harm the State of Israel and its citizens. As such, he will always be in the IDF’s cross-hairs.”

Yihye told Yedioth Ahronoth that he views the current period as “an opportunity for change,” declaring, “I’m not saying I will not fight anymore, I’m saying I don’t want any more wars. What I want is an end to the siege, and my first obligation is to work for the interests of my people, to defend them, and to defend their right to freedom and independence.”

OK, Ben Dahan is right, the man is an habitual liar.
