Of those, six fires were started in the Be’eri Forest, according to Jewish National Fund (JNF-KKL) Regional Director Danny Ben David. Three were started in Kissufim.

Firefighters in the Western Negev spent several hours working to get control over a fire that started among bales of hay in a storage barn in Moshav Gilat, and then began to spread toward the direction of the chicken coops. Two Israeli Air Force teams were dispatched to the scene to assist in containing the flames.

By 6 pm local time, at least 12 firefighter teams were still out in the field working to contain the flames, including at least 30 firefighters, four firefighting planes and steam shovels.

More than 30,000 acres have been burned to the ground and more than $2 million dollars in damage has been caused by the daily attacks by Gaza terrorists.
