Firebomb kite in flight from the Gaza border, April 20 2018

The Israel Air Force struck a Hamas military position near the border in northern Gaza in the wee hours of Sunday in retaliation for recent eco-terror attacks carried out by the group against Israel using flaming Molotov terror kites.

The attack targeted a site from where the terror kites were being launched by Hamas on Saturday.

The IDF emphasized that the air strike was unconnected to the blast in the central Gaza city of Deir al-Balah earlier in the evening.

“We will continue to act against terror attacks above and below the ground,” the IDF said in its statement. “The Hamas terror organization is solely responsible for any terrorist activity emanating from the Gaza Strip.”
