Knife confiscated by police (March 2017)

Alert Israeli Border Guard Police prevented two Palestinian Authority Arab suspects from carrying out a terrorist attack on Sunday (March 5) near the Jewish community of Tapuach.

The suspects were caught by police close to the intersection known as the Tapuach Junction.

They were spotted by police while they were checking out the area in advance of launching an attack.

Israel Police say the two men, both residents of the city of Shechem, were picked up for suspicious activity. They were arrested after a routine body search turned up a knife.

Both suspects were transferred to security personnel for questioning.
