Palestinian demonstrators protest against the visit of US President Barack Obama last year.

The ruling Palestinian Authority Fatah parry, headed by PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, has condemned “normalization” activities by PA groups that encourage do-existence with Israel.

“Every now and then, some organizations who call themselves Palestinian come up with activities of normalization with the occupation. These activities are held either in some European capitals or even during visits to the occupying state,” according to an official Fatah statement cited by the Bethlehem-based Ma’an news agency.

The red flag that drove Fatah to issue the condemnation was the crime of a soccer tournament in which Israeli and PA children played together.

This disgusting act obviously is an obstacle to the peace the Abbas wants, which is why he refuses to acknowledge Israel as Jewish state, a recognition that would preclude the Arab world’s dream of importing five million foreign Arabs into Israel and destroying a Jewish majority.

Reflecting the growing Islamic character of the secular Fatah party, the statement noted that the offensive soccer game involved “both male and female” children.

Gevalt. What would Hamas say?

And who sponsored this awful game?

The benefactor is the European Union, Abbas’ treasure chest that has turned the Palestinian Authority into a welfare state and enabled it to take over most of the barren land in Judea and Samaria.

The funds were channeled through the Mifalot peace group that organized the tournament, which was called “Neighbors United.”

Even worse, the game actually took place in Israel, an implicit that Israel actually exists as a country.

“Fatah said organizers had forgotten that it is Israel which does not accept the principle of coexistence by ignoring calls by the international community to achieve peace,” Ma’an wrote.

However, it is difficultly to expect that the “international community” will change its bias, considering the pro-PA agenda that is fed by journalists.

One example is Wednesday’s U.S. State department briefing.

One of the most blatant anti-Israel agenda questions ever posed at the daily media briefing was tossed out by a journalist named “Said.”

Following is his “question” that was nothing more than a political statement:

“Today marks the 65th anniversary of what the Palestinians call Nakba, the catastrophe. Yet despite repeated UN resolutions, they still continue to languish either in refugee camps or under occupation. My question to you is, despite your voting for a resolution that calls for the return of the Palestinians, nothing has been done over the past 65 years. Could you explain why the United States has not pushed through with its commitment to have the Palestinian refugees returned to their own land?”

The “question” reads like a speech from the podium of the United Nations by Abbas, but that is the way that the anti-Israeli agenda creeps into the media.

Spokesman Patrick Ventrell, always careful not to offend a journalist, did not contest the entire fallacy of the term “refugee camps,” which are a creation of the United Nations that does not consider any second generation as “refugees” – unless they are Arabs who once lived in Israel.

Syrians, Sudanese, Chinese and Eskimos might be considered refugees but their children do not retain that status.

Ventrell chose the easy way out, telling Said that the United States, of course, is doing its best.

“You know that we work every day toward a negotiated settlement that will bring a two-state solution,” according to Ventrell. Not only that, the American government also is putting its money where its mouth is.

“And I just want to emphasize, while we’re on the topic of the suffering of the Palestinian people, the United States has long been the largest donor of assistance to the Palestinian people and we’ve worked very hard with the Palestinian authorities to build up their institutions, to provide proper education.”

Said was not pleased and insisted, “Yeah, but you agree that the United States was not able to enforce a resolution to which it is a signatory which calls for the return of the Palestinians to their homeland, right?”

With that kind of media coverage, why should Abbas want co-existence?
