Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Minister-President of the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia, Armin Laschet, discussed ways to deepen cooperation during their meeting Wednesday morning at the Prime Minister’s Office in Jerusalem.
The two men focused much of the time during their talks on regional threats, terrorism and Iranian aggression, according to the PMO.
Netanyahu “pointed out Israel’s contribution to Europe’s security and said that Israel has thwarted dozens of terrorist attacks on the continent’s soil,” the PMO said in a statement.
Laschet is in Israel to open the first representative office of its kind by North Rhine-Westphalia.
“Israel has good relations with the state in a range of areas including youth exchanges and Holocaust education,” the PMO said.
The scope of trade with the state is approximately 1 billion Euros annually.
