Unknown vandals on Sunday evening desecrated the public menorah in Podilskyi District of Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, the website Kyiv Operative reported.

According to a local Rabbi, the vandals poured animal blood on the base of the menorah. Several days before, the rabbi told Kyiv Operative, a swastika was drawn on the menorah.

Ukraine’s Jewish community filed a complaint with the police, which launched an investigation, calling the incident an act of hooliganism.
