Shoshana Hebshi, a half-Jewish, half-Arab woman from Ohio is suing Frontier Airlines, the FBI, TSA and other governmental agencies after she says she was forced off a flight, strip-searched, and imprisoned on the tenth anniversary of the World Trade Center attacks.
On September 11, 2011, 36-year-old Hebshi – whose mother is Jewish and father is Saudi – says a security official aimed a gun at her and forced her to disembark a flight from Denver to Detroit after two South-Asian men seated next to her made repeated trips to the bathroom during the flight, raising suspicion amongst fellow travelers.
Hebshi said she was ordered to put her dead down and arms out, and was removed by officials in handcuffs, being taken to a “dirty cell” at Detroit Metro Airport where she was held for over four hours, including a strip search during which she was made to stand spread eagle and cough.
The two other men – who did not know each other – were ultimately released after undergoing similar circumstances.
