IDF soldier near the border with Lebanon.

The Israel Defense Force shelled a Hezbollah position on Friday, March 14, after a concealed explosive device was used to target an IDF border patrol convoy along Israel’s border with Lebanon.

The device exploded near Har Dov. One of the vehicles in the convoy sustained a hit, but no injuries were reported. The incident occurred at 5:45 p.m., Israel time.

“In response to the explosive device activated against its soldiers, the IDF fired towards a Hezbollah site in Southern Lebanon and confirmed a hit,” Lt. Col. Peter Lerner, an IDF spokesperson, wrote, following the incident.

Tank rounds and artillery were used against the terrorists’ site.

A spokesperson later wrote that the IDF is “reinforcing its presence on the border,” in response to the  attack today.
