Billboards with a series of maps that purport to show Israel’s continued and systematic expropriation of ‘Palestinian land’ have gone up at suburban New York train stations, including heavily Jewish populated Westchester County, the JTA reported.

The ads depict a succession of shrinking Palestinian territories in four maps and are accompanied by a statement that reads: “4.7 million Palestinians are classified as refugees by the United Nations.” The ad claims to cover “Palestinian loss of land” from 1946 to 2010.

The billboards were posted under the aegis of The Committee for Peace in Israel and Palestine and funded by Henry Clifford, its chairman. The group describes itself on its website as “a diverse, community-based group dedicated to organizing activities and educational events that advance the cause of peace and justice for both Palestinians and Israelis.” The group was also an endorser of the “Occupy AIPAC” weekend long ”policy summit.” Among its other initiatives is the “Be on Our Side: End U.S. military aid to Israel” campaign.

Clifford told FoxNews.com that he paid $25,000 to display the billboards at 50 Metro-North stations for 30 days. The billboards have reportedly been spotted in Scarsdale, White Plains, Mount Kisco, Tarrytown, and Chappaqua.

The Anti-Defamation League called the ads “deliberately misleading and biased.”

“The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is extremely complex and cannot be summarized in a series of four maps,” Ron Meier, ADL New York’s regional director, said in a statement. “This ad campaign completely ignores the facts, including the history of land ownership prior to 1948, Israel’s repeated efforts to exchange land for peace, and the commitment of successive Israeli governments to achieving a two-state solution with the Palestinians.”

“There’s always room for discussion of different sides of every story, but there’s no room for discussion on fact,” Clifford told FoxNews.com. “Anyone who challenges these maps and the content of these ads, it’s they’re obligation to show that they’re historically wrong. The ball is in their court.”

Last month, the Coalition to Stop 30 Billion to Israel erected over 20 billboards across Los Angeles in a campaign to halt US military aid to Israel. But the billboards were removed shortly after due to pressure from the pro-Israel organization StandWithUs and U.S. Rep. Howard Berman (D-Calif.).

There is NO “Palestine”!!!!!!!!!!! When will these dumb fucking Americans figure that out??????

  2. Bonnie Stein says:

The only think wrong with the map is that there is still some green on it. These people do not want peace – they are all pawns. The end game is the total elimination of the Jewsish people – to think otherwise is foolish.

  3. Bonnie Stein says:

The UN is a joke as well… These people are not refugees – If so, why have they not been placed like other Refugees – the UN would like to keep this conflict alive and well. The UN should be dismantled – or at least defuned by the US.

    • Charlie Hall says:

They ARE refugees but it is a good question why they have not been resettled; hundreds of thousands of Palestinians remain stateless in Syria, Lebanon, and the Gulf states.

The UN should definitely NOT be abolished; eradicating smallpox alone is enough to have justified its existence. And the UN diplomats in NY are a wonderful source of intelligence leaks for the US.

    • They are not refugees. A refugee is a "displaced person" from another country (UN definition). These people are not. Actually, many have come to the area (Israel), after 1930 when it was a British Mandate and have no "historical" ties to the land. Even more have arrived after the land became Israel. The original San Remo Conference actually had the area of Jordan also as being part of the State of Israel…but the Hashamite Family of Arabia complained to the British that the Saudis got all of Arabia and they didn't get anything (boo-hoo). So, the Brits gave them an area of the Trans Jordan and called it Jordan. Now, Jordan is ruled by an Arabian family oligarchy with no ties to the land. If there is a Palestianian State, its called Jordan!

    • Danny Kidron says:

To add to the contention that many of the arabs arrived in mandated Palestine after 1930 (and even later): UNRWA (the unique UN refugee organisation dealing with "Palestinian" refugees), in 1950 defined the refugees that were displaced by the 1948 conflict as those that lived in what became Israel from 1946 to 1948: two years. Why, if the "Palestinians" were the historic, eternal, biblical, original and only true indigenous people of Palestine since 3000 BC (as now claimed by Abbas) was it necessary to define them as living there for those 2 years????? Makes no sense. Now have a look at the UN website at UNRWA (the refugee organisation specifically for Palestinian refugees) and UNHCR (the organisation for all the other refugees of all the other conflicts in the world), compare the definitions, responsibilities, costs, staff numbers etc and be shocked and disgusted and understand why, of all the 150 million refugees from 1946 till today are all but absorbed into the world community, leading productive lives while the "Palestinian" refugees still wallow in misery with their own brethren who openly hate them.

    • Fred Jacobs says:

Charlie Hall, I hope you will open your eyes to the truth and not keep repeating the lies that the palestinians&mainstream media are feeding you. Wake up!!!! Ask Jesus to help you see what's going on, I did praise the Lord!!

  4. n 1946 the word “Palestinian” — if it meant anything at all — referred to Jews living in Palestine. The Palestine Post (now the Jerusalem Post) was the Jewish English-language newspaper. The Palestine Orchestra (now the Israel Philharmonic) was a Jewish orchestra, filled to overflowing with Holocaust survivors. The United Palestine Appeal, an American charity, raised money to resettle homeless Jews from Europe in Palestine — one of the things Arabs objected to the most.

Arabs living in the territory of Palestine were called “Arabs”.

  5. I would like 1 hour to educate Henry Clifford in the history of the region. In 1946 the word “Palestinian” — if it meant anything at all — referred to Jews living in Palestine. If you have ever watched Jay Leno's show on "the man in the street" or Bill O'Reilly's Jesse Watters show, you will quickly find out that the average American cannot even name their two Senators much less figure out what is going on in Israel and the so called Palestinian Refugee problem. I don;t think that people really care about the situation over in the Middle East. Certainly Jews don't care, as they voted 78% in favor of Mr. Obama and the other anti semitic Democrats into office.

    • Muriel Coudurier-Curveur says:

Wow, that explains why, when I took it as an immigrant from France, the Naturalization exam seemed such a joke to me.
-How many senators does California have and who are they?
-How many colors in the star Spangled Banner and what are they?
-What is the name of your Representative in the US Congress.
How was outraged, because I had just spent 2 years poring over the US Constitution to prepare for that.

  7. Ruth Hirt says:

As is mentioned, the said conflict is extremely complex. A slogan-billboard is, yes, bias and takes advantage of the people's lack of thorough knowledge.

    • Ruth Hirt says:

Greetings to you, Ari, buti na lang agree ka dito sa blog. Praise G_d, thank you for dropping by and responding positively against this anti-Israel billboards in New York. Be blest everyday, have a very good week in Christ Jesus.

  8. Rc Fowler says:

There are no Arab territories–its all Israel–God given to the Jews–not to the Arabs–the so called but not palestinians!

  9. Howie Finkel says:

Metro North should not but up the posters, it’s a subtle hate message!
