Israel’s Home Front Command (HFC) war room, which has been located inside the Air force command center, is moving to a new Ballistics  Image Management Center (BIMC), which only became operational in 2010. This will improve communication between the BIMC and HFC.

Charged with the task of discovering threats, the new BIMC, located in an undisclosed Airforce base, collaborates with HFC command, passing real-time information regarding incoming rockets. HFC then activates the alert system in relevant locations.

“Our goal is to make the cooperation between the two units more efficient,” says BIMC chief Major Ophir Wolfish. “The BIMC works in collaboration with many different units, like HFC, the Gaza Division, and the Northern Command. The better we communicate, the more we succeed.”
