Sderot Mayor Alon Davidi

Sderot Mayor Alon Davidi said in a statement Wednesday night following a sixth night of rocket attacks on southern Israel that enough is enough.

Davidi said he expects Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman and IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Gadi Eizenkot “to strike at the terror organizations mercilessly.

“We will not tolerate continued firing at Sderot,” Davidi said. “Dealing with this in drips and drabs is not a workable plan.”

Thus far, the IDF Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) has announced the Erez and Kerem Shalom land crossings with Gaza will be closed Thursday (Dec. 14) in response to the attacks, which left at least four people injured.

The Iron Dome anti-missile defense system intercepted two rockets over Sderot during the attack, causing shrapnel to land in the city.

United Hatzolah emergency medical personnel treated a man in his thirties for leg injuries suffered when he tripped while running for a bomb shelter after the Red Alert air raid siren was triggered by the rocket launches from Gaza.

Two children and a woman were treated for shock in the city as well.

A third rocket exploded in an open area in the Eshkol Regional Council district, near the council offices building, causing no damage and no physical injuries.
