Scene outside Hadar Mall

There was a stabbing attempt near the entrance to the Hadar Mall at 26 General Pierre Koenig St in Talpiot, Jerusalem, around 1:45 PM.

The victim (30) is light to moderately wounded after being stabbed in the upper body. The suspected stabber (35) was shot and neutralized by a security personnel, either police or mall security guards, and is in moderate to serious condition.

Police say that the attack was criminal, and this was not a terror attack, as was originally thought. Both the attacker and victim are known to police. Other reports state that the victim and the stabber were from a crime family.


Magen David Adom issued a statement saying: at 1:45 PM, a report was received at the MDA 101 center in the Jerusalem area about a man who had been stabbed near the entrance to the Hadar Mall on General Pierre Koenig Street in Jerusalem. MDA paramedics are providing medical treatment to a man of about 30 in moderate condition, with stabbed wounds in the upper part of his body.

The attacker was neutralized by security.
