A military court in Judea on Wednesday sentenced Muhammad Alamairah to two life terms in prison and a fine of about $70,000 for the terror murder of Rabbi Michael (Mickey) Mark in last July’s attack on his car in which Mark’s wife and two small children were wounded.

Alamairah’s partner in crime, Muhammad Faqiah, was killed during a chase by Israeli security forces after he had blockaded himself in a building and started shooting. In response, the forces targeted the building with anti-tank rockets and took it down along with the terrorist inside.

Alamairah drove the car that was used in the attack on the Mark family near Otniel, while Faqiah shot the family on their car. In the weeks before the attack on the Marks, the pair of terrorists had attempted to murder other Israeli civilians, but were unsuccessful.

Alamairah and Faqiah were both freed in Prime Minister Netanyahu’s mass-release of more than 1,000 terrorists from Israeli jails in exchange for Gilad Shalit, proving yet another time the foresight and wisdom of the man at the helm of Israel’s security.
