The head of the Jordan Valley Regional Council district, Idan Greenbaum, was forced to issue a rare warning to residents of his area Wednesday afternoon after Israel Defense Forces shot down another drone that infiltrated into Israeli air space, this one from Syrian territory.

“A security incident occurred over Lake Kinneret (Sea of Galilee),” Greenbaum explained in his statement. “The Israeli Air Force helicopters operating in the area are evidence that the IDF is in the picture and is acting as required.

“We know from reports that parts of the UAV (drone) that was intercepted landed in the eastern part of the lake.

“I don’t want anyone to touch anything that looks suspicious or seems to fall from the sky. Go away, report to the police or security coordinators what you have found, and do not interfere with the security forces who arrive.”
