Four soldiers in a tank unit involved in a training exercise in the Golan Heights suffered burn wounds Tuesday afternoon, and three helicopters evacuated the soldiers, two of them whose injuries were described as serious.
The other two soldiers suffered moderate burns.
The IDF is investigating the incident involving Unit 401, which uses the most advanced tanks in the IDF. The explosion occurred when an overheated shell exploded. The families of the wounded soldiers have been notified.Jewish Press News Briefs
