The Temple Mount

For the first time in nearly two weeks, Jews have been allowed to go up to the Temple Mount on Yom Haatzmaut, Israel's Independence Day.

Due to Muslim violence, the Temple Mount has been closed to Jews for the past 13 days.

The muezzin's loudspeaker is usually on full volume whenever there is a large Jewish event at the Kotel.

The Barlevs have long since enshrined themselves in Israel’s short history as humongous failures when it came to defending the country.

In the past, Jewish visitors who dared wave an Israeli flag on the Temple Mount were detained and removed from the holy site for long periods of time.

Abbas also told Lapid, referring to the Jordanians, that “their demands are our demands.”

The recent Hamas-perpetrated riots in and around the Al-Aqsa Mosque were a wake-up call for the Jordanians.

There are plenty of Israeli government ministers and MKs who would be happy to curb the religious rights of Jews on the Temple Mount.

PLO and Hamas flags were raised and chants were shouted about massacring the Jews.

“The two leaders discussed in detail recent efforts to stem violence in Israel and the West Bank,” said a White House statement.

The Temple Mount is currently officially closed to Jews.

The reasons for the unprecedented violence at the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the presence of green Hamas flags on the Temple Mount should be sought among the Islamic Movement in Israel, Hamas, and the Muslim Brotherhood.

While Muslims enter the holy site freely, Jews are screened by metal detectors, undergo security searches, and are banned from bringing Jewish religious objects to the site.

The expulsion of Jews hasn't appeased the rioters.

A female police officer was wounded in the attacks by Arab extremists on the Temple Mount.

The holy compound was finally opened for Jews after about a half hour’s delay and would remain open, because it’s Ramadan, only until 10:30 AM.

In response to the pressure, Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett decided to close the Temple Mount to Jews until the end of Ramadan.

Muslim vandals blocked early Sunday morning the paths on the Temple Mount on which the Jewish visitors usually traverse with rocks metal polls, and ancient artifacts, some apparently dating to the Second Temple era some 2,000 years ago.

The freeze is to last two weeks -- meaning it would have little to no effect, since the Knesset is in recess for the next four to five weeks.
