Israel Preparing to take the Palestinian Authority to the Hague

Israel is preparing dozens of claims against senior officials of the Palestinian Authority for participating in terror attacks.

In cooperation with the Israeli government, an Israeli NGO, Shurat Hadin – The Israel Law Center, is preparing the infrastructure for taking senior members of the Palestinian Authority to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) for their role and participation in terror attacks, according to a report in Makor Rishon.

The claims will be submitted to the court if Palestinian Authority president, Abu Mazen, decides to launch a lawfare attack against Israel at the ICJ. The Palestinian Authority has been threatening to take Israel to the Hague since its status was upgraded in the UN.

Israel has begun taking multiple retaliatory steps in response to the Palestinian Authority breaching the peace talks agreement by taking unilateral actions by applying to various UN groups, and refusing to extend the talks.

Shurat HaDin, an Israeli NGO that defends the legal rights of terror victims, initiated the idea. Various Israeli government offices will be assisting Shurat HaDin in preparing the lawsuits against senior Palestinian Authority officials in the ICJ.

Last year Shurat HaDin began a series of high profile lawsuits in the U.S. against the PA and others involved in terrorism against Israelis. A few of the cases resulted in judgement with high payouts to the victims.

Nitzana Dershan-Leitner, who founded and runs Shurat HaDin, says the purpose of preparing these lawsuits is to discourage the PA from filing any lawsuits in the Hague.

Dershan-Leitner said that as soon as the ICJ Criminal Court recognizes the Palestinian Authority and allows them to sue Israel, it then creates a two-way street, and which allows the PA and its officials to be sued in return, in the same court. The [terrorist] crimes the PA and its officials have committed is far worse than anything they are claiming against Israel.

Dershan-Leitner added that Shurat HaDin has clear documentation in its possession as to who committed and who is behind each terror attack

    Yea….its about time…

  2. Guy Peters says:

Then ,take the bogus ” palis” to Jordan ,let Jordan deal with them as in 1970 ,

  3. Brett Heyns says:

Stuff is about to get real :)

  4. Dana Welch says:

Go for it Bibi. Lets see what the European anti-Semitic elites do.

  5. I do feel one technique for the Jewish people to claim much of the West Bank is to offer economic incentives for as many Jewish people as want to to move there. When you are in the majority, it is easier to claim this land is yours. Posession is 9/10 of the law.

  6. I just hope Israel can get a fair hearing here.

  7. I just hope Israel can get a fair hearing here.

  8. Cecil Habib says:

It's about time that Israel shows some spunk!!!!

  9. Not before time Israel, the first time the Peace Agreement of 2012-2013 was broken international legal action should have been taken. Now it will be difficult. I see the first question of the defense being 'Why now and not sooner?'

  10. Walter Richards says:

Hashem almighty could go to the this court of "Justice" and testify on behalf of Israel and the "esteemed" judges would still rule against Israel. if Kerry in spite of the fact that Abbas did everything
to make the talks fail and Kerry still blamed israel,
certainly the fake justices on that ICJ who are even more antisemitic
    will be even more biased

  11. Terrorist and criminal acts never expire!

  12. Steve Moyer says:

Doing that would be a futile as taking them before a Nazi court.

  13. Paul Hatgil says:

500 hundred million Arab people are Semites which include most of the Lebanese and those in the occupied territories. Thus the term anti-Semitism as it only applies to the Jewish people is utter nonsense.

  14. Don't bet on Israel taking Palestinian officials to the ICJ no matter what happens because that would open up Israeli officials to prosecution for far greater crimes against the Palestinians for which the evidence is overwhelming. And the whole civilized world knows that.

  15. The UN is a useless body of individuals whose morality code is for sale and depends upon the ethnicity of the country submitting for justice. It needs to be entirely a Relief organization in the event of global tragedy for that is all it is good for.

  16. The Evil UN will always side with the evil Arabs because they want to Arab oil and they care more about the 1 billion Arabs not the 14 million Jews (no matter how evil the Arabs are) and because most UN states are evil leftist Anti Semitic racist countries (unlike the USA which loves Jews with the exception of Obama who hates israel).. So who cares what the UN Hague so called "Courts" say. they didnt say anything when the Arabs were dancing in the streets after 9-11.

  17. the UN has difficulties. They try to please all or look for a `scapegoat` There are some good voices but lets see……. whatever comes out there are people in every nation who support Israel ! More than that you do have the love of Ha `Shem , You need no other protection !

  18. Good move, but do not expect too much !

  19. Now Israel will see in which side would be the ICJ criminal court.

  20. Keith David Reitman says:

It is likely far better, and less bloody, to let Israel and the Pals battle it out in a war of court filings than a war of shootings and bombings of each other. I do believe most so-called 'World Courts' hold a double standard and bias against Israel. It is time that Pals be held responsible for their continual and ever more dangerous trans-national terror. Further @ Nancy Prosser, your dirty name calling only reflects your biases and blindness. Dirty name calling does not, ever, solve problems. Do you really care to solve problems?

  21. Let the lawsuits begin!!!

  22. I couldn't agree more tha with Peter Bayliss. I don't think they should expect sympathy from the UN I don't think they will listen to reason. The UN needs the world approval. They will continue to blame and shame Israel

  23. I agree, this would be as futile as taking them to a Nazi court
