Israeli Professor Penelope Ur received a title of nobility from Queen Elizabeth II in recognition of her work as a teacher of English and her efforts to promote friendship between Britain and Israel.

According to report in Yedioth Ahronoth, Ur, 69, was named Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) on Saturday at Buckingham Palace.

Ur, who was born and raised in England, resides in Moshav Amnon in the Upper Galilee, unable to tear herself away after coming for a “visit” to a kibbutz as an Oxford Master’s student.
