United Nations human rights investigators have confirmed that the Lebanese terror organization Hizbullah has taken up arms to fight alongside soldiers loyal to Syrian dictator Bashar Assad.

According to a report by Reuters, Iraqi Shias and Iranian Revolutionary Guards have also infiltrated Syria in an attempt to bolster Assad’s threatened regime.

The verification of Hizbullah’s involvement has intensified concerns that Assad will pass on some of its abundant chemical weapons to the group, which has openly asserted that it intends to attack Israeli civilian areas.

Israel’s ambassador to the United States Michael Oren has said that possession of chemical weapons  by Hizbullah would be a “game changer” for Israel.

Assad’s regime has conducted increasingly brazen attacks on known civilian areas, recently executing an aerial bombing of the densely populated Yarmouk camp.

Approximately 44,000 people are estimated to have been killed since the fighting began almost 2 years ago.
