The Los Angeles police department spent hours on Tuesday utilizing highly specialized equipment to investigate a bomb threat near the Wilshire Boulevard Jewish Temple in Koreatown which turned out to be a hoax.

An unknown suspect called in a threat against the temple early Tuesday, with another individual reporting a bomb inside a police patrol car at the intersection of Wilshire and South Hobart boulevards.

The Wilshire Boulevard Temple is LA’s oldest reform synagogue, and was founded as Congregation B’nei B’rith 150 years ago.
