As demands of reader participation go, this one was pretty high. You were supposed to share with us your real hopes for the new year, in an effort to impress God with our appeals as a group and—as a group—receive better attention. There is a Jewish concept of “The king’s glory is intensified by the size of His assembly,” meaning that in approaching God, the bigger the crowd, the better. But it had to be real, it had to be sincere. Here are a few of my favorites…

A casting call published in July 2011 in Backstage magazine and in other publications listed the movie title as "Desert Warrior," and presented it as an "historical Arabian Desert adventure film." An actress in the film who asked not to be identified said the original script did not include a character named Prophet Muhammad.

Nepal and Israel issued joint commemorative stamps to mark 52 years of friendly relations between the two countries last week. The stamps showcase the highest and lowest peaks in the world which are found in both countries: Israel’s Dead Sea which is 422 meters below sea level and Nepal’s Mount Everest, at 8,848 meters above sea level.

Sam Bacile, whose You Tube video trailer shows the Prophet Muhammad as a skirt chaser who favors the sexual exploitation of children, says unabashedly that he was looking to convey a message, and hopes his video will help Israel by showing the "true face of Islam." The message, apparently, has been received, loud and clear, with a reaction that so far includes to the death of U.S. consulate worker in Libya and a riot in front of the U.S. Embassy in Cairo.

There is no scientific equation to determine what is hatred, but a Facebook picture of a smiling Anne Frank surrounded by the caption, "What's that burning? Oh it's my family" is an easy one. So is a Facebook picture of a baby on a scale emblazoned with a Jewish Star, where the bottom of the scale is a meat grinder with raw ground meat (presumably, a baby's) oozing out.

A reporter mentioned to White House Spokesman Jay Carney yesterday's scoop in Ha'aretz, which cited Western diplomats and high level Israeli officials about the special National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) on Iran's nuclear program submitted recently to President Obama, which is almost a word for word copy of the Israeli intelligence assessment.
