Iran’s Navy Commander, Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi, announced on Tuesday that two massive war games scheduled for the coming winter, adding that new home-made naval vessels will be unveiled soon, Farse reported.

“Two destroyers, named Sahand and Dena, which are being built by the Defense Ministry’s Naval Industries; and the Fateh submarine, which is in the final stages of production and has gone under naval tests, will be unveiled by the end of fall,” Rear Admiral Khanzadi told reporters in Tehran.

He added that the Damavand destroyer is also being overhauled and will be launched again before the end of the year.

“Some major naval drills will also be held in late fall and the Armed Forces’ joint massive drills will be staged on the final days of this year,” Rear Admiral Khanzadi said.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday attended the navy officers’ course graduation ceremony at the Haifa navy base. In his speech, the PM referred to the Iranian naval threat:

“At the start of the week we witnessed a sharp clash with Iranian proxies who tried to obstruct international navigation in the straits at the entrance to the Red Sea,” the PM said, and warned that “if Iran tries to block the Bab-el-Mandeb (the strait between Yemen in the Arabian Peninsula and Djibouti and Eritrea in the Horn of Africa), I am convinced that it will find itself facing a determined international coalition to prevent this. This coalition would also include the State of Israel and all its arms.”
