In his daily column, Al-Ahram's Dr. Osama Al-Ghazali Harb referred to a MEMRI TV clip showing Egyptian President Muhammad Morsi at a Friday prayers, October 19, nodding his head and answering "amen" as the preacher curses "the Jews." According to Harb, the clip was an embarrassment for Morsi, who must reconcile his commitment to the peace agreement with Israel and the fact that he, basically, would like to wipe out Israel. Egypt’s Channel 1 broadcast a video of Egyptian Cleric Futouh Abd Al-Nabi Mansour, Head of Religious Endowment of the Matrouh Governorate leading an Islamic prayer service attended by Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi, during which he asked Allah to kill all the Jews and all of their allies around the world. Appearing earnest in prayer, Morsi sat cross-legged, eyes closed, open raised raised in front of him, listening and answering “amen” as Mansour led a large group of worshipers in the October 19 prayer.

On Friday, October 5th, 15,000 Islamist protested in Amman demanding regime reform, after the king dissolved the parliment. Jordan’s Islamist have strong support among Jordan’s Palestinian majority, who have very limited representation in the government.
