Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Russia's President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, Jan. 29 2018

“Iran, Syria and Israel’s security needs” are on the agenda when Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Russia’s President Vladimir Putin sit down for their talk shortly.

Israel’s prime minister told reporters prior to the meeting in Moscow that he “appreciates the direct excellent relationship” that he has with Russia’s president.

The two men will join Netanyahu’s wife Sara in watching the World Cup semi-final after they have completed their discussion.

The talks take longer than expected, however, given Wednesday afternoon’s infiltration of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) from Syrian territory into Israeli air space.
