Second explosion that rocked the area around Tel Sultan

There’s a new explanation for the powerful explosion that rocked the Tel Sultan area Sunday in the province of Idlib near an Iranian weapons depot at a Syrian military airport.

Qala’at Al Mudiq, a Syrian military analyst, said in a tweet, “Heavy blasts heard yesterday near Tell Sultan (sic) were part of planned operation by Regime to blow up entire areas (like in Ghab plain) to cement demarcation line. Hence no ammo warehouse nor Israeli raid.”

The Syrian Al-Masdar News site “explained” on Monday that the blast, reported to have taken place near the Abu Dhuhour military airport, was due to “overheating at a local ammo depot.”

Other sources speculated the explosion was due to an Israeli air strike.
