An Arab protester cuts the Israeli separation fence near Ramallah

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a late night emergency security cabinet meeting in Jerusalem following the harrowing events of Israel’s Bloody Tuesday, March 8, and the conclusion was, according to a communiqué from the PM’s office, to begin at once to repair holes in the separation fence between Jerusalem and the rest of Judea and Samaria, as well as complete the building of the fence in the Tarqumiya crossing area in the South Hebron Hills.

Apparently, the gaps in the separation fence are being used by PA Arabs to enter Israel illegally sans residency permits. Most of them enter Israel to find work, but some go through to kill Jews. For instance, the killer of an American student in Jaffa Tuesday night was an Illegal resident from a village near Qalqilya.

In addition, the cabinet decided on lightning legislation to punish individuals who aid and abet illegal residents. Also, Palestinian media channels that engage in incitement to terrorism will be shut down. And all trade and work permits of family members of terrorists will be revoked.

The meeting included Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon, Internal Security Minister Gilad Erdan, Police Commissioner Roni Alshich and representatives of the IDF and Shabak.
