A new technological tool that was developed in Israel scans the accounts of 2 million Israeli users and analyzes who are the most popular users who are yet to be discovered by the media and become official celebs. The still nameless app analyzes the behavioral patterns of these users, rating them by number of followers, comments and likes.

In short, it reveals the best performing celebs on Instagram.

According to Eran Nizri, director and founder of Leaders, which developed a system dealing with advertising through major social networks, “The new search possibilities on Instagram will facilitate the production of major series such as Big Brother and Survivor, which would be able to start the season with those characters that have already proven their attraction and bring with them to the screen their hundreds of thousands of followers.”

One example of a huge account owner who is yet to be discovered is Israeli model Maria Domark, with more than 214,000 followers. She says people already recognize her on the street as “that girl from Instagram” and even ask her to stop and take a selfie with them. Another strong account belongs to Talia Sutra, who also boasts 214,000 followers. Talia is a yoga artist who reveals online the story of her Aliyah and building her home in Israel. Her surfers become involve in her life, ask her questions and Talia says she feels like they’re her family.

Nizri adds: “The system knows how to slice the users according to content niches like food, fashion, sports, art, music, and fitness. It’s the slicing that lets us understand who are the strongest relevant gurus in each niche and can be useful to commercial company seeking opinion leaders in their fields.”
