NY Post Spreading Misinformation, Jew Baiting Humor

Posted on: April 15th, 2012

NewsMedia

An April 13 short item on the number of inmates in the NYC jail system who receive kosher meals was headlined: "20 inmates fat on glatt." Now, is this a suggestion that City jail kosher meals be made more healthful, perhaps with larger salad portions and less fatty, albeit kosher, meat – or was this a callused NY Post insult to Jewish criminals who are so insolent, they won't even eat pig like a decent Christian convict?

The U.S. Supreme Court returned to the lower courts the issue of whether Americans born in Jerusalem may list “Israel” on their passports – a ruling that drew praise from Jewish groups. The decision delivered Monday was a success for the family of Jerusalem-born boy Menachem Zivotofsky. His family for years has sought to force the State Department to agree to state on his passport that he was born in Israel, citing a law passed by Congress in 2002.

The Groggers: It Ain’t Your Uncle Moishy’s Rock N’ Roll

Posted on: March 18th, 2012

NewsJewish

It's not easy being a modern, Jewish singer/songwriter and refuse to utter a preachy note about anything, refuse to be a nice Jewish boy, and refuse to include a clarinet in your music. That's why The Groggers stand out – because they manage to do great punk rock that's totally and irrefutably Jewish without ever sounding like they need to get approval from some mashgiach.

If you have nothing better to do and you're member of the Park Slope Food Co-op, you should try to attend their Monday night meeting this week, when a group within the mostly organic-food loving, bicycle riding, inoffensive crowd of lefty New Yorkers, will be attempting to add the food co-op to the campaign of Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) against Israel. Bring your own tomatoes.
