The Palestinian Authority's security forces rarely arrest terrorists.

The PA Arab who was killed in a riot against soldiers southwest of Hevron on Tuesday was Muataz Idris Sharawneh. Media focused on the whether the IDF had jailed  him by running him over with a jeep, as he tried to take it over by force, or by gunfire. The fact that he was a cadet training to join the security force was totally parenthetical in the reportage.

The IDF recently arrested three PA security officers who murdered Ben Yosef Livnat, a nephew of Likud Minister Limor Livnat, at Joseph’s Tomb in 2011.

“All they wanted to do was murder Jews,” said Minister Livnat.

In late 2012, Israeli security forces arrested a terrorist cell near Bethlehem. One of those arrested was a Palestinian Authority “policeman” who participated in several shooting attacks on Jews in the Gush Etzion area, including a an attack on a bus and soldiers last November,

In January 2012, one of 13 terrorists arrested for attacks on IDF soldiers in Samaria was Manzar Abbas, an officer in PA intelligence in Ramallah who provided fellow terrorists with arms and ammunition.

In September 2011, an employee of the Palestinian Authority security forces murdered American-Israel Asher Palmer and his two-year-old son by throwing rocks at Palmer’s car, causing it to crash and overturn, leaving the driver and passenger dead.
