What do you make of this photograph?
The official caption reads: “President Barack Obama and former President Bill Clinton are bathed in blue light as they talk backstage prior to participating in the Clinton Global Initiative Healthcare Forum at the Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers in New York, N.Y., Sept. 24, 2013. Former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, right, waits to introduce them.”
It seems like that’s basically what Hillary does—wait. She’s into her 15th year of uninterrupted lingering, as wife, as candidate, as the sure thing.
It’s as if Hillary has become the post child for the rest of us, who already know nothing good is coming out of the American political system, but still, despite the odds, and since we recall the happy times when it did work – we stand in the wings and actively anticipate.
God bless you, Hillary Rodham Clinton, for doing all the waiting for the rest of us. Now it appears time has run out and everybody goes home.
