On Wednesday, the Ramat Gan Safari elephant La Petite gave birth to a new baby girl elephant, exactly two months after La Petite’s daughter, La Belle, gave birth to Letangi.
Elephant gestation lasts 22 months. Anyone out there complaining about the 9 month thing – go talk to La Petite and La Belle about feeling bloated…
By the way, La Petite is 28 years of age and her daughter is 7. Newborn doesn’t have a name yet. If you’re so inclined, the safari website will be soliciting suggestions soon.
