In Jerusalem, wherever you add something modern, you inevitably create conflict between it and the ancient environment. Sometimes it’s amusing, as in the case of this ad for sunglasses. Other times it can start a war, as in the case of ads with semi-clad models pasted on bus shelters in Haredi neighborhoods.

The medium is one message, the environment is another message, and then there’s the message.
