At least three people were killed and three others wounded in a terrorist car blast in the Southeastern city of Chabahar on Thursday morning, Fars reported.

Local sources also said that at least two law enforcement officers were killed in the attack. The suicide bomber meant to clear a path into the police command center, but was forced to stop where he blew up the car.

“A bomb blast was heard some minutes ago near a police station on a street in Chabahar city and security forces and aid groups were immediately deployed in the region,” Deputy Governor-General of Sistan and Balouchestan Province for Security and Law Enforcement Affairs Mohammad Hadi Mara’ashi said in a statement.

Anti-regime forces have stepped up their terrorist attacks in recent months. In September, gunmen attacked a military parade in Ahvaz, killing and injuring dozens. Last year, ISIS attacked parliament and the shrine of Ayatollah Khomeini, killing at least 18 people and wounding more than 50. Also, Kurdish separatists frequently clash with the Iranian military along the border with autonomous Iraqi Kurdistan region.

Tehran blames the United States, Saudi Arabia and Israel for backing these enemies of the regime in order to destabilize Iran.
