A new Channel 2 News and Dr. Mina Tzemach says that if the elections were held today, the Beit Yehudi, national Religious party, would win 12 seats, making it the third largest party in Israel. The rise of the old religious Zionist party is fueled by the mass desertion of Likud voters. The Likud-Beiteinu list, which today holds 42 seats in the Knesset, is down to 35 in Wednesday’s poll.

The Haredi-Sephardi party Shas received only 11 seats in the same poll.

One third of the Beit Yehudi-HaTkuma list define themselves as “traditional” or even secular, and two thirds of them are under age 40.

Altogether, parties to the right of Likud will receive 14 seats in the coming election, as compared with their current 7.

According to the same poll, Torah Judaism will increase from 5 to 6 seats, Meretz will retain its 3 seats, and Rabbi Amsalem, like Power to Israel, will be hovering near the blocking percentage. The three Arab parties will receive 11 seats altogether.

Wednesday’s poll shows the highest right-wing share in the vote to date – 68 seats against 52 to the right.

The poll included a sample of 728, with a 4% margin of error.
