According to the Associated Press, the deadline for Superstorm Sandy victims in New York City, Nassau, Westchester, Orange, Suffolk, Rockland, Putnam, Sullivan and Ulster counties has been extended to January 28, 2013 by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

Aid will take the form of rent assistance, recompensation for the loss of personal property or important home repairs, and other funds.
