A Saudi Arabian man was arrested near the Grand Mosque in Mecca after local police discovered papers indicating that he was seeking a Jewish bride.

The Jewish Chronicle, citing Al-Hayat news, reported that officials believe the 49 year-old man may have a “mental illness”.

The papers showed the man may have been mentally unstable, and that he was looking for a Jewish woman to marry.  He is still under arrest and may face prosecution and mandatory medical or psychological treatment.

  1. I don’t understand I thought that Islamic law and the Koran permitted such a marriage, maybe someone can elaborate if this is something particular to Saudi Arabia.

  2. In the Qu’ran it is perfectly permissible for a Muslim man to marry a Jewish or Christian woman. So what is this man being arrested for? Sound more like stupid nationalism, than being sacrilegious.

  3. You have to love the Apartheid country known as Saudi Arabia. The guy wants a Kosher bride. I find it humorous yet sad that this country (KSA) is so prejudiced and very racist. So said.
