Speaking in both Hebrew and English, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu welcomed U.S. Vice President Mike Pence in his remarks before the Knesset on Monday afternoon.
The prime minister noted that Pence was about to make history as the first American vice president to address the Israeli Knesset, saying it was fitting, given his strong support for Israel throughout his entire political career.
“No American vice president has had a greater commitment to Israel and its people,” Netanyahu said.
“As a Congressman, you were unequivocal in your support for Israel. As Governor, you signed the toughest BDS bill in America. And as vice president you have stood shoulder-to-shoulder with President [Donald] Trump to make the alliance between the United States and Israel stronger than ever,” he added.
