Sukkah War Erupts Two Weeks Before Purim

4 Adar 5772 – February 26, 2012
Ya gotta' love the NY Post. Where else will you find a report on a "high-rise holy war" at the Trump Place Condominiums, where "one man's straw Sukkot" is driving the neighbors bonkers?

Saudis Might Support Israeli Strike on Iran

Why would Saudi Arabia support Israel instead of attacking it? Forbes' Peter Cohan argues that Saudi Arabia is dominated by Sunnis, while Iran’s ayatollahs are the Sunni's sworn enemies, the Shi’ites. Saudi Arabia’s rage against the Shi’ites exceeds its dislike of its Jewish neighbors.

Alan Dershowitz: Friends Seminary Plays Bait and Switch on Anti-Semitism

The Friends Seminary of New York was unwilling to cancel the scheduled appearance of Gilad Atzmon, even after learning that he was a virulent anti-Semite who questions the Holocaust but believes that it may be true that Jews kill Christians to use their blood for religious purposes. But they have canceled my appearance because they didn't like the tone of a private letter that I wrote to them that was critical of the Headmaster's failure to comply with his promises.

Jewish Leaders: Arabs Looking to Israel to Eliminate Iran Threat

1 Adar 5772 – February 23, 2012
Malcolm Hoenlein: “While I choose not to reveal their names, they [Arab leaders] have all expressed serious concern about Iran and are interested in making peace with Israel. They are serious about what they say and proof of that has been seen in recent weeks, as you don’t hear many of these leaders raise the Palestinian issue against Israel in our discussions or in the headlines.”
Sacha Baron Cohen in his new title role as "The Dictator"

Oscars to Sacha Baron Cohen: Stay Home

If they ban him, does he not bleed, at least a little, on the inside? The Oscar folks appear to have had it up to here with the loveable, although as lowbrow as they come, British-Jewish star. Or maybe it was all his own idea. You figure it out.
Iran's UN ambassador Mohammad Khazaee

Iran to SC: Blame Israel for Absolutely Everything

On occasion it's nice to read good things about one's country, reflected through the eyes of a sworn enemy. If half of what Iran's UN ambassador Mohammad Khazaee told the UN Security Council about Israeli covert operations, cyber warfare, psychological war and assassination of nuclear scientists is true, then we should sleep quietly tonight…

Jews, Mormons, Happiest, Atheists Grumpiest: Gallup

Assuming 676,000 Gallup survey participants can't be wrong, it's now official: don your best yarmulke, tighten that lovely tichel, pour on those blintzes, kreplach and ponchikes, and trek out to hear the Torah reading every Shabbes – cuz that'll make you the happiest man or woman in America. Unless you belong to LDS, that works, too, apparently…

Mueller Appeased Arab Groups on 1000 “Offensive” FBI Documents

29 Shevat 5772 – February 21, 2012
It turns out the FBI is using training materials that are inaccurate and offensive to Muslims. So the bureau's chief told an assembly of Muslim organizations about the removal of about 1 percent of the total number of training documents produced by the FBI. Except it also turns out that some of the folks Mueller assembled were not themselves so inoffensive…

Kosher Food Vendor Suing the Mets

one might ask why, if you go out to the ballgame on a Friday night instead of hitting the nearest shul for Kabbalat Shabbat, you would need your hot dogs to be kosher? But that's not what this high-powered law suit is about...
President Obama and Prime Minister Netanyahu in the Oval Office.

Obama’s Meeting with Netanyahu a Last Ditch Effort to Halt Allied Attack on Iran

At stake is nothing short of an all out effort on the part of Israel, Britain, France, and the US, to squash, militarily, the Iranian nuclear program. In a regional mood that's becoming reminiscent of the days before Desert Shield, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states, as well as Russia, will likely, if tacitly, support and encourage an attack on Iran. What we may be seeing in the days leading up to the Obama and Netanyahu March 5 meeting, is a president being dragged, against his best intentions, into a new, hot war.

Professor Alan Dershowitz: “Films like Crossing the Line play a critical role in the information process by spotlighting basic truths about the Arab-Israeli conflict that are often ignored.
